moving is stressful, so why not add a move across the country and a new job to it? great idea...after two weeks of nonstop packing, shipping, moving and preparations - I took off for Cali :) the weather really is amazing here.
4am EST I left Richmond and everything familiar to me. after spending an hour checking in and getting my dog cleared by TSA as a 'checked bag', I finally was able to get the boarding pass and go. throughout this whole process i haven't had time to sit and think, or get sad. i have simply had a 'get er done' mentality and pushed through everything. well going through security was the mistake - i was more fit for a padded cell. i completely got hit with every emotion - nerves, excitement, fear, sadness - you name it. poor guy at the check in counter even asked if i was ok, probably because i was holding back the tears, without any caffeine and not looking too great without any makeup. the flight from richmond to chicago was great, probably because i slept and kept my life in the denial-pile (thanks ashley). chicago turned into the worst part of the trip. i dont know if you consider them yankees or what, but man was everyone there rude! from the people at the coffee line to the people at the ticket counter and those around me. disclaimer: i might have friends from there and not know it, so if i do i take it back - yall are nice and i dont hate you. after a helacious 3 hour layover in chicago, i hopped on the plane to san fran - well, the back of the plane was empty. so i got up and moved to an open seat to sleep. leave it to me to have someone come sit RIGHT there beside me. there were about a dozen other empty seats - apparently i have 'i love people' written on my forehead instead of 'i have space issues'. so after tuning her out and quickly going to sleep, i landed in san fran!
abbie made the flight so well - i picked her up immediately after hopping off, and she was just her usual self. so glad that both animals made it. mom and bear picked me up from the airport and we went home to unpack and eat. turbo kicked in, and before the end of the night pictures were hung, boxes unpacked and clothes hung. sunday i shopped (oops), got my nails done, and relaxed some since monday i was starting my new job :)
real housewives of atl did a run in heels - i'm pretty sure monday i could have done that distance. i walked from office to office and met people all day, and by the end i literally have blisters the size of quarters on my feet. fml.
today is the third day and so far the calmest... my car got in this morning, so now i have all of my clothes and decorations to put up tonight.
